Tanzanian coffee delivers bright, complex character with vibrant black currant and citrus notes that showcase the best of East African coffee. Tanzania Coffee Growing Regions

Tanzania Coffee Origins Map

Tanzania's premier coffee-growing regions include the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in the north and the southern highlands around Mbeya, at elevations between 1,200 and 1,800 meters. The volcanic soil, high altitude, and careful wet processing create beans with bright acidity and complex fruit flavors.

Tanzanian coffee is often compared to Kenyan coffee but tends to be slightly softer and more approachable while maintaining East African brightness. Tanzania uses a grading system similar to Kenya's, with AA being the highest grade for bean size. Many farms are small, family-owned operations organized into cooperatives focused on quality and sustainable practices.
